Take It Off Monday - Week 4

This was a good week!  Goal #1 is completed.  It took a little longer than I originally planned, but slow and steady wins the race, right?  Either way, each week I'm getting a little closer to my goal and I can't complain about that.
Week 4 Summary

Weight Loss this Week: 2.2 lbs

Weight Loss to Date: 5.2 pounds

Weight Left to Lose: 9.8 pounds

First Goal: 5 pounds (Met!  Time to schedule my appointment.)
  • Reward - Pedicure
Second Goal:  10 pounds
  • Reward - A new pair of shoes
Final Goal: 15 pounds
  • Reward - A new outfit
Success:  I met my first goal this week.  I tried to watch what I ate and really worked hard at getting exercise in. 

Set Back:  I'm not complaining this week.  :)

Exercise: Other than Thursday, I got a workout in every day.  Although it was soooo hot last week (90-100*) I still got out for my C25k.  I ran 5 days and did the cardio P90X another day.  As much as I don't want to get out and do it, I feel so good afterwards. 

I hope to reach the next goal for sure in three weeks.  Fingers crossed! 

Just a sneak peak - the girls and I went on a picnic to some beautiful flower gardens.  Get ready for a photo dump (once I get around to uploading/editing everything, that is!)

Take It Off Monday - Week 3

OK, I forgot to post again this week.  We may have to change this to Take It Off Tuesday.  I wish I had some better news to share this week.  Maybe that's why I forgot to post?  Subconsciously I wasn't too excited?  I was doing great all week.  In fact, I had lost 1.5lbs.  Then came the weekend.  I don't know how it started, but I caved to the Double Stuff Oreos that my mean husband brought into the house that I'd been staring at all weekend.  I didn't keep track of any of my food on Saturday or Sunday.  And when I'm not watching it, it never ends well.  Kind of like, if I don't see it, it doesn't count.  Only it does, and the scale proves that. :(
Week 3 Summary

Weight Loss this Week: 0.2

Weight Loss to Date: 2.8 pounds

Weight Left to Lose: 12 pounds

First Goal: 5 pounds (This is taking longer than I thought!  Time to step it up)
  • Reward - Pedicure
Second Goal:  10 pounds
  • Reward - A new pair of shoes
Final Goal: 15 pounds
  • Reward - A new outfit
Success:  I guess I lost a teeny bit. 

Set Back:  I had hoped to reach my first goal this week.  Next week, folks.  I'm going to do it! (I hope...)
Exercise: Still doing Couch 2 5k.  I'm now on week 5 and am officially running more than walking.  It's fun seeing how I can now do more easily what was so hard a mere few weeks ago.  I'm excited to run a 5k, as it's been a goal for a few years.

Take It Off Monday - Week 2

Yeah, I know.  It's Tuesday.  Woops.

Well, this week wasn't as fabulous because it was my birthday.  We went down to Mpls on Saturday and went to a movie (pretzel with cheese, tsk tsk) and out for dinner to the Melting Pot.  Can we say AMAZING?!?!  First, cheese fondue with an assortment of dippers.  Then salad (we'll pretend that was healthy and forget about the caesar dressing).  Next came our meal, which I ate the chicken and pork off of our ginormous platter.  I suppose that was good.  If I would've stopped there.  But of course I didn't.  How could I when we had a s'mores chocolate fondue with marshmallows, rice krispy bars, poundcake, brownies and cheesecake to dip.  We were both miserably full.  But you know what?  It was worth every little (big!) calorie.  Mmmm...

After dinner we went out for drinks.  Ya know, because I hadn't already totally wrecked my day. :)

Week 2 Summary

Weight Loss this Week: 0.6 pounds.  Even with the gorging mentioned above, I lost a little.  I'll take it!

Weight Loss to Date: 2.8 pounds

Weight Left to Lose: 12.2 pounds

First Goal: 5 pounds (I'm shooting for next week!)
  • Reward - Pedicure
Second Goal:  10 pounds
  • Reward - A new pair of shoes

Success:  I lost a little big (a loss is a loss, right?) even though I let everything go this weekend.

Set Back:  Did I mention that dessert platter?  Still worth it.

Exercise: I have still been working on and finished week 3 of Couch 2 5k.  I also did P90X twice last week.

Y3W | My Birthday Weekend

Sunday is my birthday.  29.  29???  That means this is my least birthday in my 20's.  Gulp.  I mean, I have a husband and two kids, so I don't exactly feel like a spring chicken anymore, but how did 3-0 get so close?  I might just celebrate 29 again next year.

I'm so excited.  Tomorrow my parents are watching the girls and Eric and I are going to stay in Mpls. for the night.  I was trying to remember the last time that just the two of us went to stay somewhere.  We've had nights out, but it usually involved things like a wedding or something when there were a lot of other people around.  I think the last time he and I went to a hotel was when Kendall was 6 months old.  Yup, it's time!! :)

We don't have a lot planned yet.  I think we might hit up a matinee.  It seems as though there are some good movies out there now.  For dinner, it's the Melting Pot!  I'm so excited, I've wanted to go there for a long time. 
I mean, c'mon.  Dipping my food in cheese?  Heaven.  Pure heaven. mouth is watering just thinking about it.

Take It Off Monday: Week 1

I lost 2.5 lbs!!!  I was hoping I would have success this week, because I've really been trying.

Weight Loss: 2.5 lbs
The Good: I tried to track every.little.thing I ate this past week.  It seems to hold me accountable when I have to actually see everything I'm snacking on.  I will look up different options and try to plan out my day.  I finished week 2 of Couch 2 5k.  I certainly won't be winning any races any time soon, but I will be so proud of myself if when I finish it.  I've had a goal to run a 5k for a couple of years now, and keep coming up with excuses why it doesn't happen.
The Bad: I had a wedding Friday night and stayed in a hotel with my old co-workers.  We had a great time, but I ended up have three (yes, 3!!) slices of Domino's pizza after.  What is it about a night out, that pizza tastes so damn good??  Ugh.  Oh well, I had done pretty well the rest of the day.
1st Goal: 5 lbs {Reward-pedicure} Getting close!2nd Goal: 10 lbs {Reward- new shoes}
3rd Goal: 15 pounds {Reward - a new outfit}

My goals for this week are to keep watching my calories, finish week 3 of C25k and do 2 sessions of P90X.
