I keep getting more and more late on these. Sydney turned 9 months old on the 7th. I cannot believe how quickly my baby girl is growing up on me. Luckily, she's still a peanut so I can be in denial for a little while longer on how big she's getting.
We went in on Thursday, the 17th for her well baby visit. Turns out, she wasn't such a well baby. The poor thing had a double ear infection, and we had no idea! She must be a trooper, or it wasn't bothering her much. Other than that, everything looked great with her.
Weight: 17lb 8.5oz
Length: 27'' (although this always seems off from what I measure her at home)
Head: 17 3/4"
Sleep: For much of her 9th month, she was getting up a lot more at night than usual. She has been a great sleep from the beginning, so this got very frustrating to us. For a couple of weeks it'd be twice a night. Usually, she'd just eat and go back down so it wasn't the end of the world. However, when you are cozy in your bed and in a nice sleep, it's still not too fun. Looking back, that could've been due to the ear infection. She's also been super active, so maybe my little run just needed more food for her energy the next day. She's been going to bed around 7:30 and gets up around 6:30ish. She is still mostly rocked to sleep by me, but goes down great on her own at daycare.
Eat: She is eating her baby food so much better now. She still nurses before daycare, fruit and oatmeal for breakfast, veggie and rice cereal at lunch and another veggie/fruit for dinner. She'll have a couple bottles throughout the day (although she isn't taking down a lot of ounces) and will nurse once or twice before bed. We're working on finger foods and she's getting more used to the texture.
Milestones: She said mama!!! She's crawling everywhere, is pulling herself up and has no fear. She just started standing on her own for fairly long periods, so now the next step is walking. I don't think this momma is ready for two walking kids.
Attitude: She has turned into a total mommy's girl. If she sees me in the room, so only wants me. It's nice to be so loved, but it gets hard to get much done. Overall, she is so happy and smiley.
Size: She is in 9 month Carter's and 6-12 month clothing. We just moved up to size three diapers.
Now, let's look at the pretty girl :)
