'Tis the Season

To say I love Christmas is a huge understatement.  There's just something about this time of year that makes me all warm and gooey inside.  I love everything about it.  I love the music.  I love the cheesy movies on TV.  I love the decorations, the shopping, the way people seem to be better.  To want to do better.  I love this time of year so much in fact, I had to get married (3 years coming up!) in December so we could have Christmas music during our mass.

Now, I know you're *supposed* to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to put up the tree.  And I tried.  Really, I did.  I just could wait any longer.  I broke out the Christmas playlist on my iTunes at work last week.  I thought that would maybe scratch the itch a little.  Nope, it just made it worse.  This weekend was full Christmas decorating, and I love it.  I have the timers on all the lights to be on when I get home from work, and to turn back on from 6-8am.  The only thing that makes crawling out of a nice warm bed to get ready for work is a beautiful lit tree {or two}.

Two years ago I had the best idea ever.  The day after Christmas I went a bought a pre-lit tree.  Oh em gee, was that the best thing I could've done.  I think stringing lights on the tree is the ONE thing I hate about Christmas!

Here are a few pics of the house.
This is the one thing I hate about decorating.  The mess to start with pulling everything out of storage.

The finished product.  Ahhh...I love Christmas trees. :)

My houses downstairs.

My little Charlie Brown tree for the kitchen.  This tree holds all of our "family" ornaments.  We have a "baby's first Christmas" 1980, 1982 and 2008 on here.  Now to get 2010!

Houses upstairs

My angel collection from my momma

Some leftover wedding decorations.  That's the good thing about a December wedding.  You can reuse these things!

Kendall's first glimps of the tree.  I should've counted how many times she said 'pretty!'.  although, I'm already finding ornaments throughout the house that she feels the need to take with her.

Sydney's first view of the tree.  She loved the lights!

my girls!  Now we just need some presents under there

5 MONTHS OLD!

praciticing sitting

with her BFF, Sophie
My little girl is five months old.  (Well, to be fair, she's now almost 5 months and 2 weeks.  Mommy was a little too busy with work to update)  Now to the stats:
  • The little peanut is now about 14lbs (27%) and 26" (78%)  Tall and skinny, just like her mom.....ok I couldn't even type that with a straight face.  :)
  • As shown here Sydney has recently been facinated with her toes.  It amazes me how flexible they can be.
  • 3-6 month clothes
  • size 2 diapers
  • laughing up a storm.  Especially when we play peek-a-boo (which big sister Kendall has a blast doing with her)
  • Still sleeping about 11 hours at night (8-7) and usually a couple catnaps and one 2 hour nap.
  • No solids yet but takes about 3-4 7oz bottles at daycare.
  • rolling like CRAZY.  She will not stay on her back for more than two seconds before she'll flip back to her belly (but only to the right side)  She'll roll across the room until she gets stuck by the couch.  She forgets that she can then roll to her left.
  • Just got her new jumper and l-o-v-e-s it!!
It's so crazy to me how fast time is going.  It's been a blast watching her grow though.

Wordless Wednesday

Sydney has a new favorite passtime -nibbling on her toes.  I don't blame her - they are pretty darn cute.

I see you toes...just you wait.

TWO YEAR PICTURES!

I got Kendall's two year pictures back last week, but have been so far behind to get them posted.  Brace yourself...they're pretty darn cute, if I say so myself! :)

Kendall kept telling anyone who would listen what pretty shoes she had.  :)

Tommorrow is more pictures with the girls.  I feel like I'm always bringing them.  My MIL wanted pictures of her grandkids so we'll have 4 kids 3 and under!  This may be interesting.  They all have matching little outfits, so it should be super cute.  Fingers crossed they all cooperate for at least a few shots!

Absence Makes the Heart Grow Fonder??

I knew it was coming.  I prepared myself.  I've done it before and I can do it again...right????

Sigh, this sucks.  Tonight is my first night away from Miss Sydney.  I had to go out of town for work.  This job was supposed to go in the middle of September, but got pushed back because they weren't ready so I was happy I could delay it a little longer.  I can't believe Sydney is almost five months and I haven't spent a day away from her yet.

I am missing Kendall's funny dancing and giggles and Sydney's sweet smiles.  :(  I'll be home soon....
