The Leaves are Changing

The leaves are changing colors, the air is getting crisp and that just means one thing....fall is officially here!  In the past week or so the trees have gotten so beautiful!  Sunday night we brought the girls up to Eric's parents to get some pictures of the girls in the woods.
Kendall got an apple from the tree.  Yummy!!

My beautiful babies

Kendall loved running around in the woods, and it was great to be outside on what could be one of the last nice days (cry!).  I'm trying not to think that in a month, it's possible we could start getting snow.  I will then be cursing us for staying in MN!

On a happier note, Kendall's birthday planning is underway!  Only a month or so until my baby girl is two - WHAT?!?!  I'm in denial yet that she can be this old already.  Poor Eric, I may go Dugger on him to keep a baby in the house.  ;)

Your Three Words

Hello.  My name is Tessa and I am addicted to the new fall line ups.

I feel like I have been worthless this past week with all of the great new shows on.  I thought I was going to pee myself with excitement for the new Grey's Anatomy!  The one (of many) great things about nursing Sydney is it gives me a great excuse to just sit, relax, cuddle with my angel and watch some good TV.  :)  I think my DVR was working in overdrive Thursday night though.  Grey's, Project Runway, Real Housewives and Jersey Shore all at the same time.   *Sigh* I fully realize how pathetic I am.  The first step is admitting your problem...right?!?

Kendall had to stay home from daycare Thursday.  She had a 101 temp, which I'm almost positive is from those stupid teeth.  All 4 incisors are thisclose to popping through.  Poor thing, I hope it's over with soon!!

I'm looking forward to the weekend, but hope the rain lets up.  I'd love to take the girls out for a walk and try to get some scenic pics with the leaves.  This time of year is SO beautiful.  If only it could stay like this, but before we know it there will be flurries in the air.  :(  I want summer back!!!

Child, please eat!

Pizza, cheese, bread, chicken nuggets, mini corndogs, grapes, apples...that is all Kendall will eat!  The little stinker will not try anything anymore.  As soon as I figure out something she likes and buy a lot of it (yogurt, peaches, etc) she suddenly decides she won't touch it.  So frustrating!

I feel bad that she's not eating balanced meals, but at this point I just want the little runt to eat.  The days of breastmilk/formula were so much easier! :(

On another note, Sydney has been going to sleep even earlier lately, which has been good and bad.  It's nice that she now goes to bed at 8 so I have some time to catch up on things before I go to bed at night.  However, I only see the little sweetheart for a couple of hours before she is sleeping.  Makes the weekends that much better I guess.

Your Three Words

I got Miss Sydney's three month pictures back today.  She is usually all smiles, but of course didn't flash too many during our photo session.

Honestly...how could you not love this face?!?

Your Three Words

I can't believe I'm back to work.  Well, apparently I'm not working too hard as I'm writing this right now at my desk.  :)  Tuesday was my first day back.  I felt like a kid going back to school - picking out a new outfit to wear, packing my bag (in this case a breast pump replaced a fancy new backpack) and getting to see my friends again.

I did pretty well dropping Sydney off, but once I started backing out of the driveway I was already tearing up.  My car was on E, so I had to pull myself together so I could go and get gas, which was probably a good thing.  I was proud of myself - I only checked in once {it took a lot of will not to keep calling}.

For some reason, yesterday was the hardest day.  I kept looking at her pictures (I miss both girls of course, but I have sort of gotten used to leaving Kendall).  Everytime I would check the time I'd think about what we would be doing...eating, napping, laying down while patting her little butt to get her to go to sleep.  I'd think about her sweet little fingers holding on to mine while she'd eat, about the way she puckers up her lips like a little duck when she's waking up, all the little coos I've grown to look forward to in the mornings...now I'm missing her again!

I went home at 3 yesterday.  I just couldn't take it anymore!  I'm lucky that I am in the office this week to break myself in a little.  Next week I start going out to clients again, so I better pull myself together!

For some Friday fun, join the blog hops!

Three Months Old!

Sydney Rose, my sweet little baby girl, turned 3 months old on Tuesday!  I can't believe how quickly she's growing up on me!  She is now 24" and between 9-12.5 lbs.  Yep, that is how great my scale is!  Everytime we'd try to weigh her I'd get a different number.  She was 10lbs at 2 months, so I think she's between 11-12.  Such a peanut!!

Now, I suppose there is a slight possibility I could be biased, but honestly...is she not the CUTEST little thing?  I think we make some cute babies if I say so myself! ;)

She has been laughing and smiling like crazy.  I love listening to her little stories when she is talking away.  She's started to like the bouncy seat more and kicks away to hit the toy bar to make the lights and sounds go on.  She's also starting to sit in the bumbo seat (when we can kick Kendall out of it - she now for some reason thinks it is still hers.)

Kendall still really likes Sydney, but I think the novely is starting to wear off for her.  However, if Sydney is crying Kendall will say, "Mama, baby cry!  Baby cry!"  She'll then bring over her blanket, paci, and any toys that she knows are Sydney's.  Such a good little helper (when she wants to be).

The other big news for Sydney this month is that she started daycare, but I'll post more about that later.

Fun Times at Nickelodeon Universe

On Friday we went down to Mpls for a consult with the Dr. for Kendall's birthmark.  The nurse is going to call on Tuesday with some information, but I think Eric and I have decided to go ahead with it.  We have decided to do it in two separate appointments, which should hopefully minimize the scar she'll have.  It's nerve wracking to think about my beautiful little girl getting put under and having surgery, but we feel this will be in her best interest.  We find her perfect in every way, but I remember what it is like growing up and we don't want her teased.  We want Kendall (and Sydney of course) to have the best life possible.  We aren't able to keep her in a bubble or shelter her from teasing, but we want to try out best! :)

After the appointment, it was off to Mall of America.  Kendall was in second heaven!  Right away she spotted the giant Dora the Explorer picture and and screamed "Dada, Dada!  Boo! Boo!"  (somehow Eric and Dora have the same name. :)  She sure does love her Dora and Boots though!)  We bought tickets and Kendall was so excited to hit the rides.  She kept squealing "Ride! Ride! Ride!  Weeeeee!!!"
I love this picture - it shows her excitement! :)
It was an awesome day.  Kendall had so much fun and was in a great mood, and Sydney was a little trooper also.

We are en route to Minneapolis as I am writing this (don't worry, Eric is driving!). We have another consultation this morning with a plastic surgeon to determine if we want to remove the birthmark on Miss Kendall's cheek. I have mixed feelings about this, but it'll be good to talk to someone to have our options open.

After her appointment we are heading to the MOA for some fun with the girls. Nickelodeon Universe should have some rides for Kendall's age and I think she will LOVE Underwater World. I hope to get some great pictures that I'll post.

Oh yeah, today is my last official day of maternity leave. :(

Maybe going back to work isn't so bad!!

I don't know if it's teeth coming in, delayed jealousy with Sydney, or just a little attitude but Kendall has been a little stinker lately!  It was days like this that made me wonder if I would ever cut it as a stay at home mom!  After throwing fits all morning, we go to have lunch.  Apparently, applesauce must do wonders for the hair! ;)

I then go to find that she completely tore her room apart!
Finally, it was time for a much needed nap for mommy Kendall
She certainly gave me a run for my money that day!  Then you see my two girls playing together so sweetly and you remember why it is so great to be a mom. =)

Picture Day = FAIL!

Both girls were in great moods when we arrived.  However, unknown to me today must have been "Get Your Kid's Picture Taken" day - the place was packed!  We were told they were running 10 minutes late...probably 40 minutes later it was our turn.  By that point Sydney was over tired and Kendall was tired of sitting still.  Ugh...

I finally decided to just wrap it up.  We are going to give it another go on Monday.  Let's hope take 2 goes a little better!

Picture Day!

We are off to get Sydney's three month pictures taken. Crazy it's that time already! My dad is coming with to entertain Kendall. I'm really hoping to get a couple of the girls together. So far, getting a good one is like mission impossible! Fingers crossed! I'll post the pics when we get them! =)
